We provide gentle, professional ear microsuction in a comfortable, private setting. Your ears will be assessed before treatment to ensure it is safe and appropriate.
What is Microsuction
Microsuction is a straight forward, safe, simple technique used to remove wax build up from the ear canal using a gentle vacuum.
REASONS FOR MICROSUCTION
Ear wax build up can cause hearing loss, ear pain, a feeling of fullness and ringing in the ears.
Foreign objects, including hearing aid moulds, headphone tips, insects and other debris lodged in the ear canal.
Important information
BEFORE MICROSUCTION
For the 3 days before your appointment, apply a couple of drops of earwax-softening oil, as advised.
You can use olive oil, waxol or other over the counter ear wax softeners.
It helps lubricate the ear canal and soften the wax to make the removal process as gentle and comfortable as possible.
Important: Do not use ear drops or oil if you have a known or suspected perforated eardrum, ear discharge, or an active ear infection unless advised by a healthcare professional.
PERFORATED EARDRUM
If you have a known or suspected perforated eardrum, Ear Bliss recommends that you seek assessment and treatment from an ENT.
For your safety, Ear Bliss does not perform microsuction on an ear with perforated eardrum.
Please advise us of any previous ear problems when making your appointment.
Prices
Ear Microsuction is only performed if wax impaction is found during the Ear Consultation. Please note you will only be charged for the Ear Consultation if no wax is found. Microsuction includes Ear Consultation for both ears. There is a 10% discount for pension card holders.
Ear Microsuction - $100
Professional earwax removal using controlled suction. Includes an ear consultation for both ears. Treatment is performed only when wax impaction is identified.
Ear Consultation - $45
Ear examination to check for wax impaction. If no wax removal is required, only the consultation fee applies.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
No. Ear Microscution is not covered by Medicare, so bulk billing is unavailable. Ear Bliss offers private appointments, with a 10% discount for pension card holders.
